The Opel Vivaro-e is the best-selling electric van in its class

The Opel Vivaro-e is the best-selling electric van in its class

Customers looking for an emission-free electric vehicle rely on the new Opel Vivaro-e electric light commercial vehicle. The Opel Vivaro-e van was the best-selling electric vehicle in its class in Germany in the first quarter of 2022. Its great popularity has helped Opel increase its market share in its home market's increasingly important electric light commercial vehicles to almost 19 percent in the first three months of the year. In Great Britain, the Vauxhall Vivaro-e was even the best-selling electric light commercial vehicle ever in March and held this top position for the entire quarter. Year on year, Vauxhall increased its market share for electric LCVs in Great Britain from 19 to 22.7 percent. Moreover, Opel and Vauxhall are among the few manufacturers that can already offer customers electric variants of all models in their commercial vehicle range.

"The segment of electric light commercial vehicles is increasing and is of great importance for the entire industry. As more and more corporations focus on reducing the operating costs and emissions of their fleets, sales of electric LCVs will continue to increase in the future. We are proud that the award-winning Vivaro-e is leading the way. Our decision to make battery-electric models from the Opel Combo-e to the Opel Vivaro-e electric van to the Opel Movano-e available early was exactly the right one," says Opel CEO Uwe Hochschurtz.

With a range of up to 328 kilometers and a payload of 1,163 kilograms, the Opel Vivaro-e electric van plays a decisive role in the consistent electrification of the Opel and Vauxhall light commercial vehicles. Both brands continue their electric strategy without any reduction in intensity or power. As early as 2024, all Opel and Vauxhall models will be electrified, and from 2028 Opel and Vauxhall will be fully electric vehicles in Europe. Remember that Opel Vivaro-e was named the "International Van of the Year 2021".

Opel Vivaro-e Hydrogen

The Opel Vivaro-e HYDROGEN now has a hydrogen fuel cell drive with a plug-in battery and can drive more than 400 kilometers on a full tank. The 45 kW fuel cell delivers enough power for longer journeys on the motorway. Refueling with hydrogen takes just three minutes – as short as stopping to refuel with conventional diesel or petrol. The entire drive technology is housed in such a space-saving manner that the minivan does not compromise in terms of space compared to traditional combustion engines.

The Opel Vivaro-e offers a choice of up to 5.3 or 6.1 cubic meters of cargo space; the payload is up to 1,000 kilograms. The new Opel Vivaro‑e HYDROGEN electric van is available in two lengths, M (Medium) and L (Large) (4.95 and 5.30 meters).
