Peugeot's current lineup is quite extensive, including the Peugeot e-208 and Peugeot e-2008 and Peugeot e-308 and Peugeot e-308 SW, as well as the Peugeot e-Rifter/e-Partner, Peugeot e-Traveller/e-Expert, and Peugeot e-Boxer vans. While the European market has welcomed some of these plans (especially the Peugeot e-208) with open arms, the French company is saving its most ambitious model for 2023.
The Peugeot e-3008 will finally arrive in 2023. This electric SUV will be the first vehicle to use a new STLA Medium modular platform (renamed eVMP) that will be better than the current eCMP and EMP2 platforms.
As a result of this design, packs with a capacity of 87 to 104 kWh will be feasible, allowing for ranges over 600 kilometers according to the WLTP standard. The Peugeot e-308 was announced to have a range of 400 km, although it is anticipated that less powerful batteries (60–70 kWh) will also be available in the access versions.
Mercedes-Benz, Saft, and Stellantis have formed a European cooperation called ACC (Automotive Cells Company) to manufacture the NCM (nickel, cobalt, manganese) cells that will be used. Douvrin will be the production center for the batteries (France). The group's reliance on CATL can be lowered due to this.
An electric drive module with a power output of 170–245 hp (125–180 kW) and another with a power output of 204–449 hp (300–500 kW) are both viable options for the STLA Medium platform (150–330 kW). The former is what the Peugeot e-3008 will use at first, and it will align with the next generation of M2 engines produced by Emotors, a Stellantis and Nidec joint venture.
A second drive on the rear axle will allow for all-wheel-drive variants in addition to the front-wheel-drive base model. A high-performance PSE (Peugeot Sport Engineered) model may also exist, with output exceeding 300 horsepower.
The Renault Scenic E-TECH, which will be introduced in 2024 and is 4.50 meters in length, will be the primary competitor of the Peugeot e-3008. The rhombus-shaped one is predicted to feature a larger 87-kWh battery pack in addition to its comparable size. The Volkswagen ID.4 is another major rival and will soon be updated to keep up. @via largus.
