The debut of the Twike 5 had been planned for 2020 but was postponed due to the spread of the pandemic. Twike has revealed its new electric tricycle's release date and technical details, set to hit the market in late 2022.

Vitesco Technologies, which acquired the technology from Continental's engine division, is responsible for producing the vehicle's drive system. Many automakers have found that their preferred electric car drive system works best in compact vehicles. The Twike 5 three-wheeled electric vehicle can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds, all thanks to its 70 kilowatts (or 95 horsepower). The system's strength and efficiency contribute equally to its performance.

A driver's and a passenger's pedal set will be available as extras on the Twike 5. It's a little step toward fully recharging the battery, but it'll help.

The Twike 5, which is small and light, may have a WLTP rating of 6.9 kWh/100 km. Its long-range variant, powered by a 30 kWh battery, can go up to 500 kilometers without recharge. The manufacturer will modify the maximum speed to accommodate the four batteries and provide a sufficient driving range. Using the greatest battery pack, the three-wheeled electric car can reach 190 km/h.

The 15 kWh battery variant will have a top speed of 120 km/h and a range of 150–250 kilometers. The 20 kWh and 25 kWh batteries included in the middle models indicate their expected performance. The former will be able to travel between 200 and 330 kilometers before needing to recharge and will reach speeds of up to 140 kilometers per hour. The second one will be capable of 155 mph and will have a range of 415 kilometers.

The recommended retail price range for the Twike 5 electric car is 39,900 euros - 49,900 euros. The initial 500 units will be produced, and the first shipments are scheduled to start in late 2022. However, if you want something even less complicated, you could go with a basic electric scooter for short journeys around town.
