Renault Trafic Van E-Tech Electric: A Versatile and Eco-Friendly Choice for Professionals

Renault Trafic Van E-Tech Electric

Renault is expanding its range of electric vehicles by introducing the Renault Trafic Van E-Tech Electric, a new light commercial vehicle that will go on sale in 2023. The Trafic Van E-Tech Electric is the latest addition to Renault’s all-electric light commercial vehicle line-up, which includes the Kangoo Van E-Tech Electric and the Master E-Tech Electric. The Renault Trafic Van E-Tech Electric is designed to meet the needs of professionals operating in urban and peri-urban environments, offering high performance, versatility, and customization possibilities.

A Bestseller with an Electric Twist

The Trafic Van E-Tech Electric is based on the Trafic, a bestseller trusted by over 2.4 million professionals since 1980. The Trafic is the third most-sold light commercial vehicle in Europe and has become an icon in its segment thanks to its features that make it a reliable and practical partner for various businesses. The Trafic Van E-Tech Electric inherits all the strengths of the Trafic, such as:

  • Two lengths (5.08 meters and 5.48 meters) and two heights (1.967 meters and 2.498 meters) to suit different needs and preferences.
  • A load space (in van mode) ranging from 5.8 cubic meters to 8.9 cubic meters, with up to 4.15 meters of load length (in the L2 extended version with the trap door in the partition).
  • A towing capacity of up to 750 kg and a payload capacity of up to 1.1 tonnes.
  • A floor cab version for extra modularity and customization options from a network of over 359 approved body makers.
  • Storage space in the cab adds up to 88 liters, with a clever Easylife drawer in the glove compartment that holds a full 6.6 liters.
  • A “mobile office” feature that allows the seat in the middle to fold down and become a desk or a table for meals.

The Trafic Van E-Tech Electric also adds some electric-specific features, such as:

  • A lithium-ion battery of 52 kWh capacity provides up to 297 km of WLTP range. The battery has an 8-year or 160,000 km warranty and can be replaced free of charge if its state of health drops below 70% of its nominal level.
  • A 90 kW (122 hp) electric motor that delivers 245 Nm of instantly available torque, making it smooth and relaxing to drive in all circumstances.
  • An Eco mode that limits the vehicle’s power to ensure optimum range, and a ‘long range’ version that is limited to 90 km/h, giving a range of 322 km.
  • A fast charging option that allows the battery to be charged from 15% to 80% in 60 minutes with a direct current (DC) charger.

A Competitive and Eco-Friendly Solution for Professionals

The Renault Trafic Van E-Tech Electric is a versatile and practical vehicle and a competitive and eco-friendly solution for professionals who want to reduce their environmental impact and operating costs. The E-Tech Electric offers several benefits, such as:

  • Zero tailpipe emissions, which means no CO2 or NOx emissions that contribute to air pollution and climate change. This also allows the vehicle to access low-emission zones and benefit from tax incentives or subsidies in some countries.
  • Low noise levels improve the comfort of the driver and passengers and reduce noise pollution in urban areas.
  • Low maintenance costs, as electric vehicles, have fewer moving parts and less wear and tear than internal combustion engine vehicles. Renault also offers a comprehensive service plan that covers routine maintenance, repairs, roadside assistance, and battery rental or purchase.
  • Low energy costs, as electricity is cheaper than diesel or petrol in most markets. Renault also provides advice on charging solutions and helps customers find the best tariffs and suppliers for their needs.

  • A financing service that offers flexible and attractive options for leasing or buying the vehicle and the battery.
  • A connected service that enables customers to monitor and manage their vehicle and battery remotely via a smartphone app or a web portal. The app also provides access to a network of public charging stations and a route planner that optimizes the journey according to the battery level and traffic conditions.
