The new Renault Kangoo electric minivan is already a great success worldwide

It's been 25 years since Renault released the Kangoo and made a new car class for family cars. A minivan with a lot of space and sliding doors quickly became very popular, especially with families with kids. Space and convenience were most important for the family, and Kangoo stood for those things.

As a light transport vehicle, the new Renault Kangoo is already a big hit worldwide. There have been a crazy 4.4 million copies sold in 50 countries. The new Renault Kangoo will be available as a pure electric car for the first time. Renault Kangoo E-tech Electric vans that run on electricity have been sold for more than ten years.

The Renault Kangoo electric minivan has all the features that have made it famous in the past. That means you have the same freedom and room. With all the seats up, you can carry 850 liters of luggage. If you fold down the back seat, you can carry a huge cargo (2,500 liters).

Customers with a caravan, like a camper, can use the Renault Kangoo E-tech Electric to pull up to 1500 kg.

The 45 kWh lithium-ion battery in the Renault Kangoo E-tech Electric Family van gives it a range of up to 285 km (WLTP). The warranty on the battery is for eight years or 160,000 miles.

The electric engine in the new Renault Kangoo E-tech Electric has 90 kW, which is about 125 hp. It also has 245 Nm of torque, which makes driving smooth. If a customer wants to go further than the WLTP numbers allow, they can turn on an ECO mode that limits the top speed to 110 (instead of 135) and the number of horsepower to 76.

The Renault Kangoo E-tech Electric has a two-zone air conditioning system powered by an efficient heat pump that uses little energy. This helps the range even more. Depending on the season, it both heats and cools the cabin.

The Kangoo E-tech Electric family minivan comes with a 22 kW AC three-phase charger and an 80 kW DC fast charger that can add 170 km of range in 30 minutes.

Like the diesel or gasoline versions, the Renault Kangoo E-tech Electric family minivan has many safety features, such as adaptive cruise control and active lane-keeping assistance. It also has six airbags, which is a given.

Next week, the car will be shown for the first time to the public and the press. In the spring of 2023, the Renault Kangoo Family E-tech Electric will arrive in Europe. It will also be the first time a longer version with seven seats will be shown. The prices still need to be set.
