MINI Cooper SE Cabriolet limited edition arrives in summer
Last summer, MINI debuted a concept car that blended the fun of driving an electric vehicle with the freedom of an open roof. The MINI Cooper SE Cabriolet was met with such overwhelming acclaim that the British luxury brand has decided to move through with a limited series manufacturing of the unique model. This marks another milestone in MINI's eventual transition to an all-electric form of transportation. Beginning in April 2023, production of the MINI Cooper SE Cabriolet will begin with an initial run of 999 units destined for sale in European markets.
The powertrain and battery pack that is used in the MINI Cooper SE Cabriolet are shared with the MINI Cooper SE. The compact electric engine that produces 184 horsepower enables a particularly harmonious weight distribution. This results in a drive that is silky smooth and simple to control, which underlines the traditional go-kart sensation that MINI is famous for.
Driving an electric vehicle in-cab style is conceivable well outside of the city limits, thanks to a range of 201 kilometers. It is possible to open and close the electric cloth roof in MINI Yours design at speeds of up to 30 kilometers per hour. The roof features distinctive Union Jack motifs.
Enigmatic Black and White Silver are the two exterior color options offered for the convertible version of the MINI Cooper SE. The numbers 1/999 are etched into the door sills and side emblems of the limited edition car to draw attention to the item's uniqueness and scarcity.
Seat heating and adjustable thigh support are features of the MINI Yours Leather Lounge design included in the standard sports seats in the MINI Cooper SE Cabriolet. Driving is made more enjoyable and comfortable thanks to the multifunctional sports steering wheel upholstered in nappa leather. It is also possible to heat it.
The yellow color accents throughout the open 4-seater's interior design draw attention to the all-electric nature of the vehicle. These yellow accents can be seen on the start and stop buttons, among other places. The cockpit features eDrive services similar to those found in the MINI Cooper SE, in addition to the numerous other high-quality capabilities included.
