Zeekr X: The Affordable and Stylish Electric Hatchback from China

Zeekr X

Zeekr, a premium electric brand under Geely, has just launched its third model, the Zeekr X, in China. The Zeekr X is a compact hatchback that combines a sporty design, a spacious interior, and a long-range battery for a very competitive price. The Zeekr X will also be the first model from the brand to enter the European market later this year.

The Zeekr X is based on Geely's Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA), a modular platform that can accommodate various types of electric vehicles. The Zeekr X shares the same platform with the Smart #1, another electric hatchback from Geely's joint venture with Daimler. However, the Zeekr X is larger and more powerful than the Smart #1, offering more room and performance for its customers.

The Zeekr X measures 4,450 mm in length, 1,836 mm in width, and 1,572 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,750 mm. It has a sleek and futuristic appearance, with frameless doors, frameless side mirrors, split headlights, and a large LED light bar at the rear. The car also features innovative paint technology that can change colors and patterns with LED lights embedded in the body.

The Zeekr X comes with a 66-kWh battery pack that can deliver up to 560 km (348 miles) of range on the NEDC cycle. The battery is supplied by VREMT (Viridi E-Mobility Technology), a subsidiary of Geely that also provides batteries for other Zeekr models. The Zeekr X has two powertrain options: a rear-wheel-drive version with a single 150-kW (201-hp) motor and an all-wheel-drive version with dual motors that produce 315 kW (428 hp). The rear-wheel-drive version can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 6.9 seconds, while the all-wheel-drive version can do it in 4 seconds.

The interior of the Zeekr X is minimalist and modern, featuring a large 15-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as over-the-air updates. The car also has a head-up display that uses augmented reality to project navigation and other information on the windshield. The cabin is comfortable and spacious, offering plenty of legroom and headroom for five passengers, as well as a generous trunk space of 450 liters (15.9 cubic feet).

The Zeekr X is not only attractive and practical, but also affordable and eco-friendly. The Zeekr X electric car has a starting price of 189,000 RMB (27,600 USD) in China, which is much lower than analysts expected. The car also uses recycled materials for its interior fabrics, such as PET bottles and apple leather, as well as renewable energy sources for its production process. The car also has an intelligent climate control system that can adjust the temperature and airflow according to the occupants' preferences and needs.

The Zeekr X is expected to go on sale in China in the first half of this year, followed by its debut in Europe later this year. The car will be available in some EV-friendly markets such as Norway, the Netherlands, and Sweden. The Zeekr X is part of Zeekr's ambitious plan to double its sales volume this year, reaching 150,000 units globally. The Zeekr X is not just an electric hatchback; it's a statement of Zeekr's vision for the future of mobility. @via carnewschina.
