Leapmotor B10: $32.8k EV SUV, up to 434 km WLTP range

Leapmotor B10

Entering the C-SUV Battlefield

Leapmotor has launched the B10 into Europe’s high-volume C-SUV market. Orders opened on July 30 in selected countries. Starting price: €29,900 (about $32,800 USD). This makes it one of the most aggressively priced electric SUVs in its class.

The C-SUV segment is the largest in Europe and is moving quickly toward battery electric vehicles (BEVs). Buyers want affordable range, fast charging, and tech-rich cabins. The B10 is designed to deliver all three.

Powertrain and Performance

The Leapmotor B10 C-SUV uses a single electric motor rated at 218 hp and 240 Nm torque. Acceleration from 0–100 km/h takes 8 seconds, with a 170 km/h top speed. This is competitive with most electric SUVs under $40,000.

Battery Options

  • 56.2 kWh battery: up to 361 km WLTP range
  • 67.1 kWh battery: up to 434 km WLTP range

Charging

  • 11 kW AC charging standard
  • 168 kW DC fast charging: 30–80% in about 20 minutes

Dimensions and Chassis

Length: 4,515 mm
Width: 1,885 mm
Height: 1,655 mm
Wheelbase: 2,735 mm

A 50:50 weight distribution and multi-link rear suspension improve stability. Chassis tuning by Stellantis engineers optimizes ride and handling for European roads.

Interior Space and Practicality

The B10’s cabin is designed for passenger comfort and cargo flexibility.

  • Rear legroom: 2,390 mm from seatback to footwell
  • Rear passenger width: 1,400 mm
  • Headroom: 1,027 mm front / 1,005 mm rear
  • 22 storage compartments throughout the cabin

Seats can fold or reconfigure to create a resting space. All trims include a 1.8 m² panoramic glass roof.

Technology and Connectivity

Central display: 14.6-inch 2.5K floating touchscreen
Processor: Snapdragon 8155 chip
Operating system: LEAP OS 4.0 Plus
Features:

  • Apple CarPlay / Android Auto (OTA update from Dec 2025)
  • Multi-application display
  • 3D cockpit interface
  • Remote control via mobile app
  • Multi-scenario driving modes

Safety and Driver Assistance

The B10 aims for a five-star E-NCAP rating. Safety systems include:

  • 17 ADAS functions
  • 360° camera
  • High-strength steel safety cage

ADAS includes adaptive cruise control, lane keeping, collision mitigation, and traffic sign recognition.

Trims and Features

LIFE Trim (Base)

  • Panoramic glass roof with electric sunshade
  • 18-inch alloy wheels
  • Full ADAS suite
  • 360° camera

DESIGN Trim (Premium)

Competitive Market Analysis

The B10 enters a crowded field. Competitors include the VW ID.4, Renault Megane E-Tech, and MG ZS EV. Here’s how it compares:

ModelEurope Starting Price (USD)WLTP Range (km / mi)Fast Charge
Leapmotor B10$32,800 (from €29,900)361 / 434168 kW DC (30–80% in ~20 min)
VW ID.4$37,600 (from €34,850)360–570 (224–354 mi)—
Renault Megane E-Tech$48,300 (from €45,400)~450 (280 mi)130 kW DC
MG ZS EV$36,900 (from €33,990)~320 (199 mi)—

Key takeaways:

  • The B10 undercuts the VW ID.4 by about $4,800 while offering similar base-range performance.
  • Fast charging at 168 kW beats most rivals in its price bracket.
  • Interior storage and space numbers are best-in-class for compact electric SUVs.

Range vs Price Positioning

  • ID.4 leads in maximum range but at a higher cost.
  • Megane E-Tech has good range but a steep price jump.
  • MG ZS EV competes on affordability but lags in range and charging speed.

The B10’s balance of price, range, and charging time positions it well for both urban commuters and long-distance drivers on a budget.

Market Outlook

The C-SUV EV market in Europe is expanding. Buyers want a balance of affordability, range, and high-tech features. The Leapmotor B10 checks those boxes with:

  • Strong price-to-range ratio
  • Fast charging speeds
  • Spacious interior for its class
  • Competitive safety and tech package

Conclusion

The Leapmotor B10 targets the core demands of European EV buyers:

  • Affordable starting price with strong standard equipment
  • Two battery choices to suit different driving needs
  • Fast charging to reduce downtime
  • Best-in-class cabin space and storage

If Leapmotor scales its service network effectively, the B10 could become a price-performance leader in Europe’s electric C-SUV market.
