Emonet, a brand of the Vogtland-based Markus Hörning GmbH, has announced its intention to build electric car charging systems, especially in residential areas with a high density of rental properties, business parks and city centres with lots of office space. To this end, the initiators have already acquired four properties in Saxony.
The first charging stations are due to go online in these four areas in summer. Unfortunately, Emonet does not provide any information on the size or charging capacity of the systems. However, a rendering of the initiators provides information: This shows a parking lot with several double charging stations. These are charging parks. There is also something to say about the planned type of financing: The Saxons want to set up a crowdfunding campaign through which investors can also participate in the expansion.
The background to the initiative is that 57% of Germans live in rental apartments and are therefore dependent on their landlords or the public charging infrastructure for charging electric cars. Therefore, a change will only occur if there is a charge offer for you right on your doorstep.
The Emonet company has already started integrating charging stations in front of its existing properties and is now expanding the concept according to its information. To this end, in consultation with the municipalities, it acquires its land in residential areas on which e-filling stations will be built. Thus, a nationwide expansion is to occur starting from the first systems at the home location in southern Saxony.
Small towns and municipalities often lack the money for investments of this kind. Energy companies, on the other hand, do not consider this topic to be their core business. That is why we tackle the issue together with regional partners and go exactly where the need for charging infrastructure is most significant in the long term: residential areas with a high density of rental properties, business parks and city centres with lots of office space.

The aim is to have a capital of around 500,000 euros. The minimum amount to participate in the campaign is 500 euros.
