MG's new electric SUV is now available, and orders are already accepted. But, of course, we are talking about the MG Marvel R Electric.
The MG Marvel R Electric has a more ambitious and luxurious philosophy. We are talking about an SUV that can reach 100 km / h from a standstill in 4.9 seconds in its most powerful version. To this, we must add that a real effort has been made to offer a very modern environment inside, with an almost absolute use of the latest technologies.
The new MG Marvel R Electric has 4,674 mm in length and a 2,804 mm wheelbase, a few centimetres larger than a Volkswagen ID.4. Its shapes mix pure and simple lines and give great prominence to the lighting signature, which crosses the car's entire width both in the front and in the rear.
Inside, the most striking thing, without a doubt, is its 19.4-inch floating touch screen, to which must be added the digital instrument panel and a real battery of possibilities in its infotainment system, from integration with Android and Apple and navigation with real-time traffic information to weather forecast or the incorporation of Amazon Music. In addition, it comes accompanied by an application for the driver's mobile with which he can locate the vehicle, manage the charging point or study the car's statistics, among other things.
The MG Marvel R Electric will have two versions, a rear-wheel propulsion version and a four-wheel-drive version. In the rear-wheel version, the most modest, two engines on the rear axle will deliver up to 180 hp and a maximum range of 402 kilometres. The top of the range adds an engine to the front axle, four-wheel drive, and 288 hp, decreasing the autonomy to 370 km. In both cases, the motors are powered by a 70 kW battery that supports fast charging and, thus, manages to recharge 80% of it in just 40 minutes.
Somewhat less impressive are the maximum trailer load of 750 kilograms and the trunk volume of 357 litres to a maximum of almost 1,400 litres. The rear-wheel-drive version offers a further 150 litres of storage space in the front.
MG has not offered many details about equipment, and although the vehicle can already be ordered, more details will be offered when it is officially launched on the market. Of course, we know that it will have three equipment lines (Comfort, Luxury and Performance) and that its final price will be revealed later. Until then, we only know that MG Motor Europe has set its launch price between 40,000 and 50,000 euros.
