Stellantis and TheF Charging have announced a collaboration arrangement. This plan calls for establishing a public charging network in Europe that is open to all-electric cars and offers Stellantis customers preferential treatment.
The goal is to build a complete European charging network.
Range and public charging are critical for the transition to more sustainable mobility via the widespread adoption of all-electric cars (BEVs) and plug-in hybrids (PHEVs). Its objectives include zero-emission new automobiles by 2035 and the construction of national public charging stations.
The two businesses have identified over 1,000 owners or operators of sites across Europe to develop a comprehensive charging network to promote electric and electrified transportation in Europe and improve the user experience. The systems are installed in city centers, community spaces (e.g., hospitals and schools), traffic hubs (airports, train stations, ports), recreational areas (sports and wellness centers, hotels, restaurants), and retail stores - a total of over 15,000 locations in Europe with two million parking spaces. These places will be part of the charging network that Stellantis and TheF Charging will create and market collaboratively by 2025. The first fast-charging stations are scheduled to be installed in Italy in 2021, and the charging network will then be spread throughout Europe.
Stellantis and TheF Charging will also work together to create a carbon-free charging network as part of the collaboration agreement. The goal is to apply this strategy throughout the whole value chain.
The partnership with TheF Charging is part of the Stellantis Group's electrification plan. This initiative seeks to promote and simplify e-mobility worldwide by providing a wide variety of charging alternatives for consumer, corporate, and fleet clients. Stellantis and TheF Charging's partnership is designed to supplement the Atlante project. Atlante is the outcome of a collaboration between Stellantis and NHOA to build the largest fast-charging network in Southern Europe.
In this context, Stellantis and TheF Charging's collaboration will also involve Free2Move eSolutions, a Stellantis and NHOA joint venture focused on delivering goods and services in the field of electromobility, as a possible hardware provider.
Stellantis and TheF Charging's agreement further states that the two firms would collaborate on updating the charging network's services on an ongoing basis. To do this, they combine their expertise to provide charging solutions and energy services suited to specific areas.
Stellantis and TheF Charging will actively include consumers, owners, and operators of the selected sites to develop these services to establish tailor-made solutions for each location and client base. The goal is to build a large ecosystem on a European scale and assure consistent customer satisfaction through a straightforward charging experience.
