The Japanese aim to re-enter the electric car sector with their new flagship: Nissan Ariya. Nissan will start right away taking orders for the Ariya. It begins in Norway first, and the pre-sale phase will begin in the coming months in the rest of Europe. According to Nissan, the first vehicles will be delivered across Europe in summer 2022.
The new Nissan Ariya electric car opens in a new era for Nissan. The firm promises that "the striking appearance and sophisticated packaging of a crossover vehicle meet a revolutionary electric drive and an all-wheel-drive system whose performance is on par with a super sports car" with this model.
Nissan offers the Ariya in front-wheel and all-wheel-drive configurations and a variety of power levels and battery capacities. For example, front-wheel-drive models may be equipped with 66 or 91 kWh batteries for a range of 360 or 500 kilometers. The output is 160 kW (218 hp) and 178 kW (242 hp), and the acceleration time from 0 to 100 km/h is 7.5 and 7.6 seconds, respectively, with a top speed of 160 km/h.
Nissan stated that the Ariya would exceed the previously reported range of up to 500 kilometers due to improved aerodynamics. This will probably fail, but the final homologation in the WLTP cycle is still waiting. The trailer weight of the two-engine versions is 1500 kg, which is twice as much as the trailer capacity of the front-wheel-drive cars. The trunk volume of front-wheel-drive cars is 468 liters, whereas all-wheel-drive vehicles have a space of 415 liters.
Nissan will release pricing information at a later date. @via Nissan.
