Renault will debut a cutting-edge, battery-powered update to their classic 4 at the Paris Motor Show. The Renault 4EVER Trophy commemorates the 4L Trophy's 25th anniversary as a humanitarian rally, and the concept car paves the path for an all-electric B-SUV of the future.
Renault 4 is a cultural landmark. For its 60-year publishing history, it has bridged cultural and generational gaps, selling over 8 million copies in over 100 countries. It's a car for people because it's low-key and stylish. Production of the Renault 4 ceased 30 years ago, but the 4L has remained a popular vehicle to this day.
Presented at the 2022 Paris Motor Show, the 4EVER Trophy is the second iconic Renault model to be reimagined as an electric vehicle, following the Renault 5 Prototype. That is to say, Renault is drawing on its rich history to enhance its plans to go fully electric.
The Renault 4EVER Trophy show car is an homage to the classic in the form of a cutting-edge redesign. Immediately noticeable are the exterior's obvious design cues from the 4L. The silhouette is unmistakable thanks to the return of the original model's large bonnet, bumper, and angled rear portion; the rear side windows, with their rounded edges, is located slightly above the back wheels; and so on. The exhibition automobile is rounded and luxurious in appearance. The "ultra-technical" bolts connecting the spokes to the frame are reliable and cutting-edge. The line around the roof, which is also precisely formed, is an example.
The Renault 4EVER Trophy show car is an all-terrain, electric vehicle that goes where other cars don't dare. The electric motor is indicative of a future manufacturing version.
The display car exudes an unmistakable sense of risk-taking and begs the viewer to seek out new experiences. Having a similar feel to a Buggy, the 4EVER Trophy looks and plays like a serious contender. The radiator in the engine compartment benefits considerably from the hollow hood's enormous air outflow.
Renault's electric sports car is equipped for any condition with a spare tire mounted on the carbon fiber roof, a shovel in the trunk, and so-called grip mats on the upper section of the back door.
The lowest section of the side panels are designed with a generous 20 cm of clearance for the wheel wells. The 753 mm wheels on the 19-inch rims set off the wide stance. The battery, positioned in the center of the chassis, is now more secure thanks to reinforcements added to the car's undercarriage.
The tires on a 4EVER Trophy may be easily adjusted for the terrain thanks to a compressor visible from within the vehicle.
The Renault 4EVER Trophy was created to be driven on any road while being an off-road vehicle. In the future, an electric version of the 4L will hopefully be as adaptable as the gas-powered one back in 1962.
The 4EVER Trophy concept car shows promise for a future B-segment all-electric SUV that can handle city streets and country lanes with equal ease.
The Renault 4EVER Trophy will be built on the same CMF-BEV platform for B-segment electric vehicles as the Renault 5. The platform will ensure top-notch functionality in range, noise levels, and on-road manners without sacrificing aesthetics.
Future iterations of the Renault 5 and Renault 4 will have the same market niche as the Renault Clio and Renault Captur.
The next generation car, like its forerunner, will be produced in France. Because of their similarities, all CMF-BEV vehicles will be assembled in the ElectriCity hub in northern France.
