The Chinese state-owned company Dorcen has been manufacturing vehicles with internal combustion engines in China since 2018. The Elaris company in Germany takes over the sale of vehicles from the Dorcen, Zhidou and, more recently, Skywell, Chinese brands.
After the Elaris Finn and the Elaris Leo compact SUV, Elaris is now introducing the Elaris Beo electric SUV, which is 4.69 m in length and roughly the same as the Seat Taracco and originally a product of the Skywell Chinese brand. The Beo's 150 kW electric motor only drives the front wheels. With a battery capacity of 72 kWh, according to Elaris, a range of 460 km should be achieved in the WLTP. The manufacturer specifies the power consumption in this cycle as 17.2 kWh.
The manufacturer has not yet revealed how the SUV can be charged. Anything below a three-phase charger with at least 11 kW of alternating current and less than 100 kW of direct current would be quite a surprise in this class.
The luxurious equipment of the Elaris Beo includes laser lights, panoramic glass sunroof, parking assistant, electrically operated tailgate with gesture control and leather seats. The Beo is always fully equipped. The Elaris Beo electric SUV price is 49,900 euros.
The Beo should be available from the end of July 2021. Elaris can already offer a surprisingly dense network of nine branches and 80 service partners.
