The Future of Driving: Exploring Top EV Options in 2023

The Future of Driving: Exploring Top EV Options in 2023

Electric vehicles (EVs) have come a long way in recent years. They're no longer the clunky, slow, and impractical vehicles of the past. In fact, they're fast, sleek, and becoming more practical every day. Tesla has been the dominant player in the EV market, but there are other options out there for people who want an electric car but don't want a Tesla. Here are the top 5 EV options for those who don't want a Tesla.

Chevrolet Bolt EUV

First on the list is the 2023 Chevrolet Bolt. The Bolt is the cheapest EV you can buy in America, but there is a caveat. The federal $7,500 EV tax credit makes it cheaper than the Nissan Leaf, which does not qualify for the tax credit. The Chevrolet Bolt EUV, the larger crossover version of the Bolt, is my favorite in the cheap EV segment. It starts at $27,800 and has nearly 57 cubic feet of cargo space, making it a practical option for families or those who need to transport large items. The Bolt EUV also has more than enough range for most American commuters, with 247 miles on a full charge.

The Chevrolet Bolt EUV has a lot of other features that make it a great choice for those in the market for an EV. The car is appointed nicely with comfortable seats and nice techs like dual digital displays and wireless CarPlay. Going up a trim level to premier gives you GM's highly touted SuperCruise highway hands-free assistance tech and nice cabin materials like leather seats. Thanks to its low center of gravity, the car handles nicely in and around town with adequate power and agility.

Ford Mustang Mach-E

Another option on the list is the Ford Mustang Mach-E. This electric crossover is not only practical but also fun to drive. The Ford Mustang Mach-E has a range of up to 300 miles on a full charge and can go from 0-60 in under 4 seconds. The car also has a spacious interior with room for five and a lot of cargo space. It's a great option for those who want an electric vehicle but still want the power and style of a Mustang.

Hyundai Kona Electric

The Hyundai Kona Electric is another practical and affordable option for those in the market for an EV. With a range of up to 258 miles on a full charge, the Kona Electric can easily handle most daily commutes. It's also a practical choice for families with a spacious interior and cargo area. The Hyundai Kona Electric also comes with a lot of tech features, including a large touchscreen display, smartphone integration, and advanced safety features.

Audi e-tron

If you're looking for a luxury EV, the Audi e-tron is a great option. With a range of up to 222 miles on a full charge, the e-tron is not the most practical option on this list, but it is luxurious and fun to drive. The Audi e-tron electric car has a spacious interior with room for five and a lot of cargo space. It also comes with a lot of tech features, including a large touchscreen display, smartphone integration, and advanced safety features.

Volkswagen ID.4

Lastly, the Volkswagen ID.4 is a great option for those who want a practical and affordable electric SUV. The ID.4 has a range of up to 250 miles on a full charge and comes with a lot of tech features, including a large touchscreen display, smartphone integration, and advanced safety features. The Volkswagen ID.4 also has a spacious interior with room for five and a lot of cargo space.

There are a lot of great options out there for those who want an electric vehicle but don't want a Tesla. The Chevrolet Bolt EUV, Ford Mustang Mach-E, Hyundai Kona Electric, Audi e-tron, and Volkswagen ID.4 are all great options to consider. My personal favorite is the Ford Mustang Mach-E, but ultimately, the choice will come down to personal preference and priorities. It's important to consider factors like range, practicality, performance, and tech features when making a decision.

One thing is for sure: electric vehicles are becoming more accessible and practical every day. With advancements in technology and infrastructure, EVs are becoming more widely available and convenient to own. And with the added benefit of being better for the environment, it's no wonder that more and more people are switching to electric.

With the technology and infrastructure continuing to evolve, electric vehicles will only become more practical and convenient in the future. So why not switch today and join the growing community of EV owners?
