Polestar introduces the exclusive performance car, Polestar 2 BST edition 270, expanding its range of Polestar Engineered products. The new version is based on decades of experience streamlining electric vehicles for performance, and it is now positioned as Polestar's most dynamic and powerful electrical performance car to date.
As the name implies, only 270 cars are produced for Europe, North America, and China. Up to 15 cars are planned for Denmark, where Polestar intends to provide buyers with private instruction from a Polestar specialist as well as an exclusive test drive on either Sjaellandsringen or Jyllandsringen, allowing customers to experience the car's potential fully.
"The specially modified Polestar 2, which we displayed at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2021, received a fantastic reception." "The response made it clear that we needed to develop a similar production model," says Thomas Ingenlath, Polestar's CEO.
The production car features mechanical upgrades and many design enhancements that elevate it above other Polestar 2 models. As a result, the vehicle provides a more dynamic driving experience.
The two electric motors and the 78 kWh battery have been upgraded to provide maximum performance of 350 kW and a maximum torque of 680 Nm, as well as increased responsiveness to match the more sporty dynamics.
The undercarriage has been modified with a 25 mm lower ground clearance, specially developed and adjustable shock absorbers, a front tower strut, 20% stiffer springs, and unique new black 21-inch alloy wheels inspired by the Polestar 1 rims. The 245/35R21 Pirelli P Zero tires are custom-made for the electric car, and the iconic Brembo brakes are standard.
The Polestar 2 BST edition 270 is available in Thunder and Snow colors and a Charcoal WeaveTech interior. The fully lacquered bumpers and side skirts give the body a more substantial appearance. A matte black body strip is available, as is a matte black satin wrap paint in the color Battleship Gray. The side mirrors are black and polished. The "Swedish gold" details that distinguish Polestar can still be found on items such as brake calipers, shock absorbers, valve caps, and seat belts.
Customers in the relevant markets are encouraged to express their interest, and Polestar Specialists will then coordinate a personal sales process. Production begins in mid-2022, with deliveries starting in the fourth quarter.
